Lesson 9: Changing the Bubble Shield to Different Textures
Different textures will affect how your bubble shield will work as depending on your purpose and intention. You may want a spell attached to a shield. You may not want anything to remotely stay on the shield. You may want a spell to detach after a certain length of time. The purpose of using textures will increase your shield’s effectiveness and usability. More about shielding and spells will be covered in later lessons.
After you have created your basic shield, in this case the bubble shield., you can create your texture To create a texture, you visualize your own energy putting forth at separate areas of the shield. Textures are spikes, rounded spikes, to ripples. Differing degrees of these three basic textures may be used per what you need.
After visualizing the texture, if you want to add a spell, you place the intent of the spell at the time you are creating your texture. Then you say your spell to add it to the texture.
It is obvious that a spell will hold onto a spike shape longer and more effectively than a ripple shape although the latter is great for temporary spells. It is obvious that spells you do not want to last, you want to use the minimal of the textures as opposed to a spike texture that will have the spell attached during the whole duration that the shield is up.
Note that as you create textures, not only do you enable yourself to attach things to them, but the shield may be vulnerable to what others may send to you. Keep this in mind and adjust your shield or rethink your intention as necessary.
To remove the texture, you must visualize a smoothing stream of energy from yourself. Make certain your spell is done and removed before as well.
A basic rounded shield will prevent anything from sticking to it; this is a great repellent shield and easy to manage and manipulate to prevent people from harming you.
[Luna] I mostly use a straight up simple bubble shield without spell work. This is simple because, when you do spells, you may or may not negatively affect others. In addition, mundane people may not know or understand what is going on so you do have to be careful of their reactions.
Exercises:
1. After creating a basic bubble shield, practice putting a texture on it. Begin first with the intent of ripples. See if you can actually see these ripples. Make them larger or smaller.
2. After creating a basic bubble shield, practice putting spikes on it. Try to see these spikes. Make them larger or smaller as needed.
After you have been able to create the textures,
3. Try a simple spell to attach to a minimal shield.
4. Try a simple spell to attach to a spike shield.
