Lesson 3: Learning your own energy
When it comes to shielding, most people do not know what their own energy feels like, and so when they are touched by a seemingly foreign energy, they automatically assume it is from someone else. Which it very well could be, but the chances of it being you own energy is great and so should not be discounted.
How often have you been touched by energy, regardless if it is malicious, negative, or good and you have thought that someone else was reaching toward you and you go into a panic? Or have someone go on the defensive and start attacking you? They may have been thinking that you were attacking them and were responding in kind.
When you shield, this helps, but how can you shield without knowing what your energy feels like so you know if it is you pushing on your shields or touching you or if it was someone else.
The surest way to know is to learn your own energy.
The added bonus is when you learn your energy; you will be able to distinguish other people’s energies even better.
So how do you do it? How can you learn your own energy? A technique that I developed to learn my energy goes thusly?/P>
***
Lie on the floor in a roomy area, so you have plenty or room to play with your energy before you encounter an object or person that may disrupt your energy flow. Be sure to lock out any animals, as they will love to play with you.
Lie in a spread-eagle pose, with arms perpendicular to your body and legs spread wide apart.
Close your eyes and focus directly on your body. Do not try to expand your energy, keep it tight and compact to your body by focusing on your body and allowing nothing to draw your attention from it.
Feel yourself...not with your hands, but with your mind. Start at your toes and feel how they are, move up your feet, then legs, then torso, arms neck and head. Do not rush this. Go slow and commit the feel of your energy into your mind so you know what each feels like.
You are not feeling your skin, nerves, or bones. What you are feeling is the energy flowing in your body. Familiarize yourself with this energy. It is your friend. This is who you are.
As a side note: this is one-way also to tell if you have any energy blocks. If a place feels too hot or too cold when you touch that part of the body with your mind, you have an energy block, but I digress.
Get in touch with your energy. Learn it. Feel it. Know it.
Now when you feel you have all of your energy patterns throughout your body known, it is time to move to the next step.
Move your thoughts to an inch from your body, seeing the energy expand to the new boundary you have set up. Feel how the energy now rushes. Find where places are stronger or weaker. Take your time. Do not rush this.
Continue this exercise by increasing the boundary about an inch at a time until you have reached a boundary of about six feet around your body.
When you have finished these steps, your energy should be recognizable to you from the energy that is around you.
The next step is to keep aware of what your energy feels like as you move around and it mingles with that of other objects and people’s energies.

When you learn your energy, it makes shielding much easier.
Before I decided to learn my own energy, I constantly thought others were “touching?me and one day when I asked a person if they were, they told me they weren’t. Well they were the only ones that I was talking to at the time and I was shielded and I realized…nobody was touching me, My emotions were on a roller coaster and it was my energy I was feeling. So I decided to learn it so I would know if it was truly someone else or me. Since then, I have rarely had to ask someone if it was them reaching out to me. As a bonus, it became clear that it helped me to be able to distinguish other people’s energies, even in crowded rooms, I could tell where one person ended and another began. Often they intermingled, telling me they either didn’t have a shield up or they were familiar with the other person…it has also helped me to know when it was a true attack or not.
Homework:
Take the above exercise and try it out on yourself. Let us know your results. If you have to change it in anyway, let us know the changes you made. Also, if you wish to, tell us a incident where you mistook someone else’s energy for your own.
Please post your responses to the questions here in this thread so that others can benefit from them.
