We put our lives together one day at a time.   Piece by piece.  Thought by thought.   Circumstance by circumstance.  Choice by choice.   Oft times, much like a sewing project.

With a sewing project, we start out with an idea, or a pattern... a specific goal.   And then we get the supplies we need... and get to work and make the dress, or curtain, or doll, or quilt.

We can't always control what comes into our lives...like the weather, or our health.   Yet, we still gather bits and pieces of 'supplies' that we are able to work with and control what we make out of them.

These supplies are things like our own thoughts, ideas, desires, likes and dislikes, talents, abilities. We can live with them for years, not paying any attention to them., and not having any idea what to do with them.   They go unused.

And then sometimes we might start collecting the life supplies of other peoples ideas and needs and wants.. and we get so busy helping them live their life that our pieces of our "self", our own ideas, dreams, goals, and wants... remain scattered in piles and bits and pieces... unfinished, incomplete.

I find myself doing this... too often.   I wake up wondering.. "how did I get to this place in my life??... why am I here??"

I need and want to start putting my life together.. one piece at a time... one day at a time.

I want to start remembering to ask myself... "What do I want?".... and then I want to do the things that will get me those things that my inner heart and soul tells me to seek.

Would you like to join me in this quest?  If so... this is the place to do it.

Here is the place to begin the day by asking and answering the question of our self..."What do I want today?" ...and share and encourage each other in reaching our self-fulfillment goals.

Here is where you are reminded that who you are on the inside... matters.

Here is where you are reminded that you are special and unique and that you have value and worth.

Here is where you learn that it's never too late to put together the pieces of your unique self to use.

It's never too late to be your best self that you can be today.

Life can only be lived one day at a time ... so today is all that matters.   Lets together seek to make each today, the best for ourself that we can.

Unlike a sewing project though, with some things, like weather, we do not have control of what we are working with.   We may want sunshine and blue skies.  We may get clouds and rain.   We may want to be young and healthy... but the clock refuses to go backwards for us.

We can only work with what we have available to us to change and control.  Of all the many things we do have control over... are we taking time to choose the best for ourselves in the 'today' we have to live?

Or are we just bouncing through each day reacting to other things and people much like a ball in a pinball machine?

Each day is a new opportunity to take a look inside our heart and soul and seek self fulfillment by asking ourselves of the day we about to live.. "What do I want today?"

For some things, it may take days, weeks or months for the choices to come to pass.   Knowing the right direction to point our daily activities is the fist step.  We have to get through today to get to what we want tomorrow.   We have to aim ourselves towards the place we say we want to get to... or we'll never get there.

Do you want to clean out that kitchen drawer?  Do you want to give yourself a relaxing bubble bath?   Do you want to bring more serenity to your life...by spending 15 minutes in peace listening to the birds or watching the clouds float across a blue sky?   Do you want to work towards finishing a sewing project?   Do you want to add beauty to the world by planting new flowers?   Do you want to change something personal about yourself?.. an attitude, a habit...?  Do you want to get involved in reaching out to other people in some way... making the world a better place in whatever way you are able?

There are many ways and areas we can control both our self and our day, and choose to do the things we want... things birthed from in our heart.

As you start to greet each day... or each new week ... here is a place we can share with each other and encourage each other in seeking and achieving goals and dreams and learning to live from the inside out.

"What do I want today?"
our daily quest for seeking to live from the inside out... and to help us remember to ask ourselves what we want to do with each new day we are granted.

I sat in the den earlier thinking about our life here at this house... and I suddenly began to question it all.

Is this what I really want for myself?
Why am I here?
How did I get here?
Whose decision was this really?
and then came the hard question....  What do I want?

Do you ever ask yourself that question?

All too often I find it is too easy to start living someone elses life... and to ignore our own...the one we have tucked away inside ourselves.. waiting to be birthed to life and existence.

We put our lives together one day at a time.   Piece by piece.  Thought by thought.   Circumstance by circumstance.  Choice by choice.   Oft times, much like a sewing project... hence the sewing emblem up there.

With a sewing project, we start out with an idea, or a pattern... a specific goal.   And then we get the supplies we need... and get to work and make the dress, or curtain, or doll, or quilt.

Unfortunately, putting the pattern of our life together isn't quite that simple and easy.  We can't always control what comes into our lives...or the pattern in life we are given to work with... like the weather, or our health.

Yet, over the years we still gather bits and pieces of 'supplies' that we are able to chooose to work with and are able control what we make out of them.   Yet years later.. we look and find nothing put together, nothing finished, nothing accomplished.

These supplies are things like our own thoughts, ideas, desires, likes and dislikes, talents, abilities. We can live with them for years, not paying any attention to them., and not having any idea what to do with them.   They go unused.

Sometimes we might start collecting the life supplies of other peoples ideas and needs and wants.. and we get so busy helping them live their life that our pieces of our "self", our own ideas, dreams, goals, and wants... remain scattered in piles and bits and pieces... unfinished, incomplete.

I'd like to do it on here, and I'd like to invite you to take the same journey for yourself.

Would you like to join me in this quest.. of taking time to look inside yourself as you greet the day.. and asking of yourself.. "What do I want today?"

Each day is a new opportunity to take a look inside our heart and soul and seek self-fulfillment by asking ourselves of the day we about to live.. "What do I want today?"

While we can't always control everything that makes up our life, ...like the weather, or our health.... we daily gather bits and pieces of 'supplies' that we are able to work with and are able to control what we make out of them.

Asking the question "What do I want today?"... is a way we can look at our own inner supplies... and to be reminded we have some good things we can do with our life today, things that will make us happy if we only take time to look inside and listen to our own heart.
