1953 Hot Spiced Cider 1953 Hot Spiced Cider Ingredients 8 c apple cider or apple juice 1/4 to 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 6 stick cinnamon 1 tsp whole allspice 1 tsp , whole cloves 8 thin orange wedges ...optional 8 whole cloves...optional Procedure In a saucepan , combine cider and brown sugar. For spice bag, place cinnamon, allspice and 1 tsp whole cloves on a doble thick6" square piece of 100% cotton cheesecloth. Bring corners together and tie with clean string. Add bag to cider mixture. Bring to boiling reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10 min. Meanwhile, if desired, stuff orange wedges wth the 8 cloves. Remove spice bag and discard. Serve cider in mugs Serving Information - Serves: 8
