CRISPY CARAMEL POPCORN CRISPY CARAMEL POPCORN
1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1/4 cup dark corn syrup 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 quarts popcorn -- popped
Combine all ingredients except popped corn in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove mixture from heat, pour over popcorn, and mix well.
Spread mixture in a 15- x 10- x 1-inch jellyroll pan. Bake at 250 degrees F. for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven; stir immediately. Stir occasionally while mixture cools.
