Frosted Pecans Frosted Pecans
1 stick butter (no substitutes) 2 egg whites 1 cup light brown sugar 1 pound pecan halves
Melt butter in a 9 by 13-inch pan in a 300 oven. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add brown sugar, gradually while continuingto beat egg whites. Add pecan halves. Mix until nuts are well coated with meringue. Drop by spoonfuls into melted butter into pan. Spoon some of the butter over the pecans. Bake at 300 for 1 hour. Turn pecans every 15 minutes. Separate into individual nuts on the last turning. By royal decree, this recipe has no calories, or fat. At holiday time, this can easily be doubled or tripled and given as gifts.
