Wings over Wairarapa 2005
|
The SVAS are again running a major air show at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton in 2005, this time it will be held on Wellington Anniversary weekend 22nd & 23rd January 2005. With the arrival of the "Old Stick and Rudder Company" at Hood Aerodrome and their collection of WWI & WWII aircraft, as well as many other famous and interesting aircraft, the 2005 Air Show will be better than ever. In the intervening years (the even-numbered years) we also aim to host an Open Day & short air display. The last one was held on 18 January 2004, during the Sunday of Wellington Anniversary Weekend. However there are a range of other flying opportunities are available for anyone interested in vintage aircraft. The most recent was the Masterton Sesquicentennial air display held on Sunday 23 May 2004, as part of Masterton’s 150th anniversary celebrations. http://www.svas.org.nz/

Classic Fighters Marlborough 2005 Airshow begins
|
Held over 3 days, this airshow is building a huge reputation. Blenheim is the home of a growing collection of World War One flying machines and military vehicles. The airshow's Trade Day is on Good Friday, 25th March. Saturday & Sunday, 26th & 27th March are the main Airshow Display Days.

Genesis Wairarapa International Balloon Fiesta begins
|
Held over 5 days from Wednesday 30th March to Sunday 3rd April 2005, this annual Hot-Air Balloon Fiesta is a spectacular sight in Wairarapa skies. There are numerous events and competitions held over the 5 days, one of the most spectacular being the Night-Glow at Solway Showgrounds, Masterton on Saturday 2nd April. A special train will run from Wellington to Solway for the Night-Glow and return after the event.

Balloons over Waikato Festival begins

Held over 5 days from Wednesday 13th April to Sunday 17th April 2005, this annual Hot-Air Balloon Festival promises to be a spectacular sight in Waikato skies. Held over 3 days, this is an awesome International Airshow and Vintage Machinery Fair. Friday 14th April is the Trade Day, Saturday & Sunday 15th & 16th April are the Airshow Display Days.
