I'm a great fan of "Alternative History" fiction. Here, I working on a story that has been buzzing around in my head for some time. I'm planning to write it up in serial fashion.

Please open a new thread for comments, As I want to just use the main one for the story, Ta!

Os I'm not a budding author or anything near it but when you do the rewrite will we get to see how some of these characters came to be where they are?  I can see what they do and some of what they're capable of but I don't know why they do the things they do or how they arrived at that place in their lives to do it.  I'm not even sure what it is that I'm looking for but possibly its background on some of the characters and since you asked the other question about the wife, have any of the key characters had to sacrifice something just to be a part of the Meddlers, say because the pull was stronger than any other attachment in an otherwise mundane and predictable life.

I can shut up and not ask questions if you like....

Never stop asking questions- ever!!!

Some of the questions you ask will be answered towards the end of the book.

I have to do a lot of work on part one, as I know the character development is thin, to say the least!- I was playing with ideas at first, then got into it more, as it looked like the book might actually happen!

"have any of the key characters had to sacrifice something just to be a part of the Meddlers"
There is a VERY strong motivation for them to stay with the team- this comes out later, but has been hinted at

Good questions!

Go right to the very beginning of part one- I have actually added a peice, explaining where a few of them came from, which explains why they followed so readily!

Sorry folks-I just snipped the last four chapters off the Word file, as the story needed a lot more work. Should have it done by tonight, thank to the help I have had!

10.5k into the next one- going a bit slower now, as I'm making this one up as I go along. Starting to get a plot together now.....

The total will get to 100k this week!

progress has slowed right down. At this stage, I are working on building up the story, running scenarios and interplays over in my head.

The first book was an outpouring of bits and pieces I had been mulling over for a very long time, going back about 20 years, in one form or another.

Now it's time to work on whats happening in part II. Bits are starting to come together, but I still haven't decided how it will all fit together.

I'm down for surgery in two weeks, so i will be off the keyboard then, and will be forced to do a bit of thinking!

All good, clean fun!

This is not forgotten!

On advice, I stopped working on book two and went back to finish book one.

I have been getting a lot of helpful advice on a couple of wannabe writers groups and have now almost finished a rework of the front end. It reads quite differently now,but the story remains the same.
