This one needs to stay here!

Profile:
Single man in his fifties. Lives alone and has few friends, he is basically reclusive and becoming more so. Won't check his mailbox or pay bills. Has health issues- health is slowly deteriorating, due to self neglect. Unemployed and makes no effort to find work.

He is becoming increasingly argumentative. Is constantly irritable, abrasive and downright rude. When challanged over behaviour he denies saying or doing anything. Is strongly suspected of vandlising property. Totally intolerant of contradiction- becomes angry when taken to task.

He is becoming more unstable- this has been noted by quite a few others. All these observations have been made by many people.

The problem
This person has a LARGE collection of firearms- everything from derringers to machine cannon. He has spoken of shooting anyone trying to take his guns off him and of being prepared to shoot intruders. (normally I would put this down to a bit of macho bluster- but in this case...)

Myself and several others are in the process of  having his club menbership and ultimatly his firearms licence revoked.

Knowing several of you are involved in law enforcement, I would appreciate any comments from yourselves and other neutral parties.

Personally, I believe the Police would definitely be interested. They would then act on the merits of the information they received and accumulated as a result of some enquiries.

I keep think Aramoana.

I have made my feelings quite clear on this matter- that is that if there is anything but contrite acceptance of the letter of suspension (hand-delivered and explained) then the police must be involved immediatly.

I should say that other members have known this person for a lot longer (15-20 years) than I have and while concerned, are sure that he won't do something stupid.

We have had one license pulled so far this year, so they are not prepared to take this step when need be.

The stituation is not helped by a few (but loud) types who seem to think this is a personal vendetta. If it was, there wouldn't be any pissing about!

I'm with Ali.
If still in the Job, I would be very interested in this man.  He is not just Joe Blow from down the road - he is a loose unit in command of an arsenal of automatic and semi automatic weapons.
And if those who have some authority choose to turn a blind eye, I would be very disappointed in them.

Talked to another chap from the club who also has contacts with retired police. They concurred with your thoughts.

We will be independently taking our concerns to police tomorrow.

I'm fucking sick of this!  I just wrote a long screed commending your actions and saying I understand how you must feel swinging someones weights, and pressed send, whereapon it disappeared into cyberspace somewhere.  Probably about the tenth occasion in the last week. Always a long missive that took ages to compose!
I fucking hate microtrash!

There!  I feel better now........ I think........

Anyway, suffice to say you did the right thing M8.

(I take it this is what you refer to)

I know of about four other suicides locally that haven't even made the news...
