My 95 year old nanny is having to have a colonostapy bag put in today, Her bowel has fused together and she is not in a good way.  She wants to die but the fuckin dumb ass hospital cannot and will not let this happen.

I know a few of you here pray so please this is my pray.   Please pray she goes on the table .  He weights about 30kgs cannot eat every well and has had enough.  She has been begging someone to leave something by her bed so she can take her life.

We just want her at piece.

This is one hard thing to go through.  She has told everyone those of us over seas not to come home as she wants us to remember her when we last saw her.  She is the most amazing lady, didnaty(sp) always.

Thanks guys

I'm thinking of your Gran Kiwi, and your family. You have had alot to go thru the last few months.  You may find the doctors are trying to make the quality of her passing better .  A blocked bowel would slowly poison her to death, not good.  Thinking of it positively maybe the man upstairs thinks she still has a purpose down here before she goes. Maybe somebody can benefit from having that amazing old lady in their life for a while longer.

Thinking of you Kiwi and your Nan. Don't think of the colostomy bag as an attempt to prolong her life - it isn't. It's being done to improve what quality of life she has left. Without it, the pain would be much greater than it is now.

For your Nan's sake - and you and her loved ones I wish her a peaceful and speedy end to her suffering.

Oh Kiwi I really feel for you I remember when my Dad was dying from Motor neurone disease ( he had it mainly in his throat and slowly choked to death)  praying for him to go, it is a horrible way to end our days on earth. Like has been said the colostomy bag will make her more comfortable and she will pass over with much more dignity .  You take care of yourself .

Aww Kiwi, poor darlin.
What the girls have said here I guess u can see is right.  The docs will be doing this for her comfort and of course to stop any infection that may happen.
There is a real embarrasment through the colostomy bag and the catheter (urine), none of us expect to have no control or ability in this area.
Thinking of you hon, wishing you strength to get yourself through this one.
I know you can do this

The surgery may make her more comfortable. Pain can make many people wish to end their own lives when once the pain is correctly managed they are more than happy to continue living.
I will pray for your Nana.

well, my poor sister had the same thing happen!!  had an unrelated surgery, and something was fused to her bowel and she is now stuck in hospital for minimum 6 weeks.  hopefully she will heal well and not be stuck with a c bag for life (she has one at the moment).  and, she was taking a walk down the corridor last week and it burst (the bag), she was MORTIFIED!!

Oh Bo!! I really feel for your sis.  Same thing happened to my dad but it was an oliostomy bag straight off his stomach.  It was ages before they could remove it because being old and unwell he didn't heal well.  He has passed on now but his pride was so hurt by the bag.  For a young woman it would be the pitts.

She is doing really well.  Still wants to die but other than that she is great.  She cannot be taken out of the home at all because of the help see needs but had a good Christmas.
