I found this at another site, where I am a member.
I don't know how to play but maybe we can learn together.
If you know how, maybe you will teach me?

The only rules are, you may post back to back,
but only one number per post, please.

A FUN WAY TO EXERCISE YOUR BRAIN.....

Dont be scared of all the numbers... There's no math involved--you just need a good eye and a sharp pencil.  Sudoku is a Japanese phrase that roughly translates as "ONE number."  The square sudoku grid contains nine rows, nine columns, and nine boxes (A box is a 3 X 3 box.... You will have 9 boxes inside the one big box) To solve a sudoku puzzle, you place the numbers 1 - 9 only once in each row, column, and box

Every puzzle has numbers filled in.... you just need to work out the rest.  You'll never have to guess: all the puzzles can be solved by using your powers of deduction.

Example of the 3 X 3 grid... You need to get the numbers 1 - 9 to fit in the boxes
 8 5
 7  1  6
 2  9  3

You also need the numbers to go 1 - 9 in a row ....

 8

 5

  4

   6

   1

   7

  2

  3

  9

You also need to have the numbers 1 - 9 in a column

Here is the example of the puzzle ........

         5                     7    2     3
   1
  2   9    4          1
  5  6  2      9  3
     7  1    3  5
     1  5      6  9  7
  1        5      7  6
               8
   7  8  3        5

And here is the answers to the above puzzle....

I hope all that makes sense.... I didnt know how to make the lines heavy around the 3 X 3 boxes ... so I just colored coded them....

OKAY.... HERE IS YOUR SUDOKU PUZZLE .... GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!! REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY USE THE NUMBER ONE TIME IN THE 3 x 3 BOX.... THE ROW AND THE COLUMN....

Hint: If you leave the first numbers in the grid black, and use another color for your number, the 'right' numbers will always be readily visible.

It also helps if everyone uses the same contrasting color.
(at least that's what I was told)

        8                  9      4               7
   4       5   1   6
