Snowfall In The Yard

I see the past come drifting by,
the memories of my life
the child in me plays in the snow, all bundled up for warmth
I feel the crunch of steps I take into the morning snow
and wander to a snowdrift that is waiting on the hill
I lay myself into the powder
that fell down over night
and make an angel with my arms, then stand to look 'All right'!
The walk, I take through cornfield stalks
will get me to the trees
where frost and snow are hanging on to branches without leaves.
The trees are covered with the frost
brought on by winter fog
the edges dark against the white, the silouettes of life
The winter air is peaceful, cold,
and crisp as crackled ice
that makes the sound of daring as you walk toward happy lives.
I've traveled through my years of life
not wishing for the stars
And found my wealth, just waiting here, like snowfall in the yard.
