Shadow Dancing

As I was walking along the Boulevard

With a faint light shining into the yards.

I saw it distinctly, as it followed me

By the white picket fences, and the old oak tree.

 

The Shadow danced upon the lawns

Like it was hearing music, as I moved along,

It wiggled and jiggled, and shivered and shook,

And begged me to dance, till I stopped to look.

 

I moved and it followed, and I couldn't resist

I danced as I walked, with the Shadow, like this.

I bounced and I turned, and I circled and spun,

I flung up my arms, and we now became one.

 

The Shadow is matching my movements, so free,

I feel so alive, just my Shadow and me.

I know that the Shadow, will always be there

When I need a friend. Or someone to share.

 

I'll dance with my Shadow; I'll be happy and free

I'll take what I can, while you're dancing with me.

I'll dance with you Shadow. You won't leave me alone

You'll be there for company, as I'm moving along.

 

I'll dance with you Shadow...............I'll be happy and free.....

As I spin and I turn............ and I'm free to be me.......

I'll dance with you Shadow.....
