"If it aint broke, don't fix it." Sorry, I have no clue how to restore...I used to get my nephews to help, but the 18 yr old was scoped up by a web programer to work part time after school. So now I always maintain a good friendship with a brilliant IT geek. Fortunately, they are easily bribed with cookies or dinner at a steak house. You might see if you can get a hold of Redneck Dave. |

Took me ages to get used to IE7. Then with both my new computer at home and work I have Windows Vista........now that piece of crap is a horse of a totally different color. NOTHING works the same on Vista as it has on the other programs, especially MSWorks and Office. Plus, there is no more Outlook Express, but Windows Live with sucks! I'm seriously considering buying XP Professional and installing it on both my computers...if it will work. Need to get with Geek Squad before I even think about attempting that. |

Yah! And the way they sneak those "updates" on you. They just keep sending it and sending it, untill in your frustration to delete, you accidentaly let it slip in on you! Then if you happen to be bussy with something in the real world the next moment, you don't even notice that it's uploading shit you never asked for. Got to be more careful which damn buttons I click! OK isn't always OK. Too lazy to read, and all hell brakes loose. |

If you want to stop the ms crap, undo your Windows AutoUpdate. At the site do not accept the Express download and never download anything that's not a critical sercurity patch. Also you can hide the IE-7 on the Update page so it won't keep nagging you (although ms has "accidently" unhidden IE-7 a time or two). |

You can hide that IE update nag. Go to Tools>Windows update. Let it scan your computer, choose Custom install option. When the list of updates appears, remove the check next to the IE7 update. That will open up a dialog box. Place a check at the bottom of that next to "Don't show this update again". |
