Is it final? A fact?

Where are the really big discussion groups now? Where is everyone going to get yelled at and insulted for posting ideas and jokes these days?

I wonder why there isn't more of a Facebook thing going on, since we're all apparently already on it anyway...?

Dose anyone remember the big "Tribe" movement that never made it as big as Facebook, but was still a pretty good place to meet a lot of the world...

Anyone ever notice how a lot of these sites have isolated members who actually think their membership is composed of the whole world, but is definitely NOT?

Did anyone explain yet WHY the MSN is closing down their free "groups" scenario?

Just some random questions that were on my mind...

I wonder if this is the beginning of the end for all of these free sites now?

I mean, how dose Hotmail make a buck? I think it doesn't... And Yahoo will probably be next. Either pay, or you can't play, I guess that's about the big and small of it. Personally I would still use the net as an interactive encyclopedia of combined knowledge and just use my word-perfect to write out my occasional rants, but it would be very sad to loose my permanent contact address since nineteen ninety-seven or eight or something...

You know you can be as anonymous as you like on Facebook as well, but perhaps it's easier to catch out the downright abusives and scary sounding threateners... Or those sicko morons who post other people's private stuff as a revenge for something or another...

But you know, you couldn't beat MSN for downright drama! It was like a U.S. American freak-show most of the time I ever came by for a visit, and I think I'll probably sincerely miss it, and all the great comedy it brought to my mediocre life. [lol!]

February 21st, 2009.

Bye Bye MSN.

I'll miss it. I've been around since 1996 when they had the MSNBC local and national BBS's. So, I'm a bulletin board 'old fart' as it were...lol

I'm really going to miss this place, and all the others, but once you understand where MSN is coming from, it's easy to see why they are closing up. MSN doesn't consider doing ANYTHING worthwhile unless it makes them money.

That's all that matters to them. It's all about the money...all the time.

I have only posted on MSN boards, all the new ones look and are different and less user friendly, this sucks.

Dave, unfortunately for you (and us) we'll have to get used to the other type of boards--because after Februrary 21st of next year, all this will be gone.

My post explaining why MSN was canceling the service was deleted because I pointed out that none of you white supremists would ever show up on Facebook where you couldn't hide and post anonymous racial drivel.

Apparently second son didn;t like it/

Like he didn;t like my obama joke and kept deleting and threatened to ban me over.

I said it before and I'll sy it again - there are no bigger pussies than white supremists.
