WASHINGTON (AP) - President-elect Barack Obama said the economy seems destined to get worse before it gets better and he pledged a recovery plan "that is equal to the task ahead."
He is already pointing blame for further downturns in the economy even after he takes control of the Exectutive Branch, and after his party has had control of both houses of Congress and the Judicial Branch for at least 2 years, when the economy began to sink quickly.
(# 2) Congratulations, Buick, you finally got something right. Stupid people forcing banks to make home-loans to people who couldn't afford them, among innumerable other congressional interference with the capitalist market. Jimmy Carter and a Democratic controlled congress started it; Bill Clinton's administration re-wrote the rules to accelerate the process, and as little as a year ago, Dimocrat committee chairmen were telling us how there were no problems. And Americans sent the same dolts back to "fix" the mess they made, while Obama is bringing the rest back to his administration. Houston, we have a problem!
sounds like the government is going to be the world's largest employer like under Clinton, with the govt. having more payrrolls than all the fortune 500 companies combined. Eventually though, the economy itself has got to create jobs or our nation will create so much debt, mathmaticians will have to drag out the next number after trillion.
