Though you said the Iraqis were "Standing up"?
Americans taking over the fighting in Sadr City, because the "stand up" Iraqis cannot deal with ORDINARY CITIZENS who hate the American occupation!!
And what do the Americans bring to the table?
Bombing of civilians from the air, that's what.
At least, AQ are WILLING to die when they kill.
Not the Americans!

How silly you are. If the American troops didn't feel what they were doing was right, they wouldn't be there DYING for the Iraqis! and your link isn't working.
Also do not continue to start threads with a members name in it. You know better.

Who cares? These are the same troops who said LAST YEAR that they were avenging 9-11 by attacking the people WHO DID NO HARM TO AMERICA, proving that THEY are very poor judges of the truth.
YOU said, FALSELY, that the Iraqis were winning.
You speak falsely.
On a daily basis.
And I caught you, AGAIN!

The Iraqis are winning. they have gotten rid of over 900 + of the terrorists that are killing their people. and the only one who lacks judgement is you. You are so biased your left brain has LEFT you.

slslady.  Yes, many of our troops are very young and very suggestible.  Doesn't it even stir your conscience just a little bit that so many of these young people think they are in Iraq to avenge 9 11?  I cannot imagine that a decent human, being hearing that so many of our young people think they are in Iraq to avenge 9 11, would not cry bitterly or be viloently ill with disgust.

Oh really? You think the American troops are there because they believe in this war?
These are American troops they are loyal, patriotic Americans who are told that this war is in the best interest of the American people. They follow orders, good or bad, Right or wrong.
I am not affiliated with either side. I look at things from an ethical perspective and there is nothing ethical about this war or this administration, the republican party or you.

oh...and the spokeman is someone from Sadr's followers...an objective source at that ...(being facetious)....The militants are getting their @$$e$ kicked and they don't like it.   They are doing what any terrorists does...hiding amonst the innocent.

And as far as you statement about AQ members willing to die...that's only the brainwashed 'commoners"...notice it took 2 500 lbs bombs to penetrate the thick concrete bunder to kill the AQ leader Zarqawri...and Bin Ladin and his right hand man, are still alive hiding in the caves whilst their "flunkies" take in on the chin in the name of allah.

"Sadr City is under the American hammer and nobody is monitoring it," said Leewa Smeisim, the head of the Sadr movement's political bureau. "Eighty percent of the military operations are targeting innocents, because the Americans want to make people turn against the Mahdi Army so they can enter the city and control it. Nobody is safe in Sadr City, neither women nor children."

U.S. officials emphasized that U.S. troops responded only after they were attacked and that it was the fault of the militiamen if there were civilian casualties. "The sole burden of responsibility lies on the shoulders of the militants who care nothing for the Iraqi people," Stover said in an e-mail

The US did'nt start off fighting the same network responsible for the attacks on the US in 01'...it started with the objective of the deposition of Saddam.  But..when Bin Laden decided it would be an opportunity to kill more Americans in Iraq...the war on terror was center stage in iraq and our troops' became enbroiled in a fight of the very network responsible for 9/11.

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- At a secret meeting in Afghanistan, held last month during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, three senior representatives for Osama bin Laden gave the Taliban bad news: Al Qaeda fighters would be shifting to a new front, Newsweek has learned. According to Taliban sources, bin Laden's men told emissaries from Mullah Mohammed Omar, the elusive leader of Afghanistan's ousted fundamentalist regime, that Al Qaeda would be diverting a large number of fighters from the anti-U.S. insurgency in Afghanistan to Iraq. Al Qaeda also planned to reduce by half its $3 million monthly contribution to Afghan jihadi outfits.

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20031207/NYSU006 )

The sources tell Newsweek in the December 15 issue (on newsstands Monday, December 8) that this was all on the orders of bin Laden himself because the terror chieftain and his top lieutenants see a great opportunity for killing Americans and their allies in Iraq...

Bin, there's no opinion about it, Captain is wrong on the FACTS, Opal is pretending unconnected data somehow 'disproves' that the Iraqis have failed against SADR, who is not allied with Bin Laden (they hate one another, actually)..
There are several words to describe what she has done.
None of them are very polite.
