If I had known last night what was going to happen today I would have gone to bed earlier.
After leaving the chatroom at almost 4am, it was about 4:30 by the time I got to bed and probably nearing 5am before I got to sleep. Keith woke me at 8:15 this morning with the news that there was water coming through the light fitting in the living room so I had to drag myself out of bed, literally (I pulled a muscle in my back just before I went to bed). He rang my nieces husband Frank to see if he could help, but in the meantime tried to find out where the water was coming from. My sons bedroom is above the living room so we had to move half his bedroom furniture out and pull the carpet and floorboards up, no pipes leaking there, then we realised it must be coming from the bathroom, travelling along the pipes and then through the light fitting.
By this time Frank had arrived and yes it was definitely coming from the bathroom. I had a new bathroom suite fitted in January and now he needed to get the unit with the washbasin in it away from the wall to get to the leaking pipe. Disaster.............. it wouldn't budge without damaging all the tiles around it and seeing they have since stopped making them we couldn't risk that. The only way around it was to cut the back panel of the unit, luckily it won't be noticable. When he finally got to the problem he found that the pipe had corroded, not good after only 7 months, the reason was that it had never been sealed properly!!!!!!!!
Anyway it is now fixed but I am left with a damaged unit, no light fitting, it's ruined and not safe to use anymore and a lovely wet carpet.
We have house insurance so Keith said not to worry we will make a claim, only the second one in 27 years. He got onto the insurance people, we knew that we would have to pay the first £50 ourselves because thats how it works here, unfortunately to claim we would have to claim on both our building insurance and our content insurance because they do them seperately, so it would actually cost us £100. Also it doesn't cover us for the labour costs for a plumber, which is the biggest expense. So, we won't be claiming, it will be cheaper to do it ourselves, someone remind me why we pay these insurance premiums when they don't seem to want to pay for any claim we might have.
Then to top it all, I went out to bring my dustbin back in after the collection only to find that my bin had gone and I was left with a bin that still had rubbish in the bottom and was absolutely stinking.
No way was I having that dirty thing in my yard, I regularly powerwash ours and never put anything in it that isn't in a bag, so after a quick search round  I realised the people across from me had mine so went to tell them and got it back. I don't know what made me look inside because it had only just been emptied but I am so glad I did, they had thrown dog dirt in it and not even put it in a bag so I will have to get the power washer out.
Well thats my gripe, there is a good side to this story though, I have been able to use my lovely tag that Barbara made for me.
Hope you are all having a better day than me.
Babs

Babs, is everything okay now? I have missed this board. I hope you'll feel better. Is your back still bothering you? I'll send something in the mail for you so you can use it for you back. Just gotta have the time to go to the post office. Chuck starts his new assignment for the FAA sometime this week, so hopefully he'll have the time to run to the post office to mail some of my stuff out.

Hi Cece, I hope you had a lovely day with Nathan and his mummy and daddy yesterday, the pics of them all are great.
My back is not as painful as it was on Thursday but isn't better yet. I've had back trouble for years, actually it's more in the shoulder blade area. Someone ran into us in the car and although I felt OK at the time I had whiplash and this is the outcome. I only have to turn my head a bit too quick and I can pull a muscle, sometimes it just happens while I am asleep. It varies how long it takes to go back to normal, sometimes it's just a couple of days and other times it takes a lot longer, the longest time was three months but it's not too bad this time. Apparently my muscle goes into a spasm and sometimes traps a nerve, thats when I really am in agony. Unfortunatly I can't take the pills that would make it go away quicker, they make me very ill, so, I have to have the cream instead which takes about three weeks before it starts to work, I only use it when it's really bad. The strange thing is that all this actually comes from my neck and yet that doesn't hurt at all, very strange things bodies. LOL
BTW now you know why the custard pie on the other thread was for the plumber.
Thankyou for the offer of sending me something, I will try anything.
Hope you are having a nice day

Babs, I know how you feel. I actually can truly say I can almost always relate to the patients I see in our clinics everyday. I have a few spots with chronic arthritis (both knees and shoulders) due to the heavy body building from years ago. Then of course I have trigger points all around my shoulder blades and Upper Traps esp. on the left side. The trigger poinst don't bother me everyday, maybe an avergae of 2-3x every month, I'll have so much spasms and extremely tight shoulder blades muscles, it hurts to even turn when I'm driving. Thank goodness  for my line of work and I have some of my assistants work on those muscles using Myofascial Release and muscle energy techniques to relieve the pain. It's a painful process with them suing their elbows, thumbs, and heel of their hands to treat me. Anyway, I'll find a small bottle for you and fill it up with Biofreeze. It's an excellent liniment that we use when we have to administer this treatment to our patients. Maybe Keith can give you a deep rub with it. I'll let ya know when I send it off so you can watch your mailbox.
