I am in a few animation groups, one uses UGA5 and another adobe. Recently, they both had discussion related to PSPers. According to them, all PSPers don't give any mind to copyrights, only care about their pictures being "pretty", and their idea of animating a sig is adding sparkles. A few even went as far as saying PSPers have no morals or ethics when it comes to their work!!! Pffffffft

What's up with people hating on PSPers?

Sorry had to vent LOL

Well, Noelle honey, you can't stop ignorance. Seriously! PSP has a very bad reputation because a lot of folks really do not give a darn about artist's right a long time ago. Even to this day that copyrights is being enforced, some PSP'ers still don't care. I've seen tons of groups that do PSP and have all sorts of arts and images stolen from artists or used w/o permission and all they do is just show off what they can do and how they alter the originals.

Well guess what, WE'RE not like them! Aren't you glad that we learn about Copyrights and all related topics in this group? I sometimes feel like the copyrights police when I have to point someone out but you know what, it's better that way. I don't care if folks leave our group coz they won't abide by our guidelines. I didn't make the copyrights rules, I simply want everyone to realise and learn that NOT ALL things/images found on the net are free. They're owned by someone else. I'm very proud to say that PURPLE'S ZOO is one of those groups that is copyright aware, whethere we use PSP or UGA (Adobe Photoshop is a very expensive proggy-->>out of my league).

Sad but true, I still see hundreds of groups on MSN. open for public viewing that are breaking CR laws, some of them went underground and locked the group from anyone and not able to view if you're not a member; is that because they're hiding something? I really don't care. So many Yahoo groups also are still distributing tubes that are just flat out copyrighted or didn't bother asking the original artists for permission. Most of the artists DO NOT allow their work to be tubed. I think when they say yes to people, tubing their art is just abusing their kindness. I don't blame them one bit if they pull back/revoke the permissions or get downright nasty due to some folks that still don't get it.

As for animating in PSP, yes we can do it too. I've learned UGA5 before PSP and the only comparison with them is that in PSP you can add a little bit more flair with your tags. Both programs are great, UGA5 is just easier for animating than PSP.

Don't get offended by what they say about PSP, if you know you're not one of those people that they talk about and you know our group is not like those other ones that break CR law, keep your head up and let them know you're different. Show off some of your artwork that use CR-free images or the ones that we have permission.

We're different from other PSP'ers. We follow rules. That sets us apart from other group! Now give yourself a pat in the back.

By the way, we don't squah or disrespect any programs here. Each has their own unique qualities from other programs that sets them apart from the other tools. It's a waste of time and very child-like to put down a program just coz. We have more important things to do with our lives tha waste it comparing and squashing other proggies, right?
