Sorry I dont have the patience to try this tut exactly.  However I did read the tut and decided to try the techniques on something not so complicated.

 

 the petals and the center of this pic was made using the circle shape from psp.  Both the petals and the center were shaded using the contract and brighten technique.  The creases in the petals were achieved by using the blur technique as in the cheeks of the ballerina.  Again I apologize that it is not the ballerina but I just could not see doing that one.

I love the fact that you could take the tut and use it for something you are comfortable with.

I liked the way this tut did the shading, using the brighten technique.

I also like to use dodge and burn brushes to create the light and dark spots.

You did a fabulous job on your flowers

ok what are dodge and burn brushes? do they come with psp 8?  Or is that something ya have to download from another site?

These come with PSP8. I did a screenshot to make it easier to understand. The text is color coordinated with the arrows.
