I haven't read any love poetry for years, but I keep an online diary and a fellow diarist (English airforce) writes in his online diary to his girlfriend. I don't know why, but the words touched me today. Probably everyone knows them already, as lyrics of songs? Anyway, I hope some of you find them enjoyable.

Meet me in the shadows of your heart,
The place only you and I know exists.
Take me with you and hold me in your arms.
Meet me in the stars above,
See the light of love shining in my eyes.
Meet me at the ocean's edge,
The place where the water cleanses.
Take me to a place of absolute purity.
Meet me at the forest's clearing,
The place where the trees part.
Where we are sheltered and safe.
Meet me in the billowy clouds,
The place where heaven and earth touch.
Dance with me in the sky and share our joy.
Meet me on the mountain's peak.
The place where you can breathe deeply.
Inhale my essence and make it yours.
Meet me, my love....
Anywhere, anytime, anyplace.
Share my soul and be one with me.

Once I had a heart of stone
For it had surly lost its home
It could not love or wanted too
But in my life, then came you.
The stones began to fall away
As happiness began to fill my day
A feeling so sweet and special too
Could this be love, I pray is true.
My heart now sings a song of love
For I know that it was sent from above......
My heart is warm, there is no cold
Hard no more, but with wings of gold.
It soars above the sky so high
Sometimes I think of why and cry
My heart now sings a loving song
For the part of me I thought was gone.
The gift that you have given me
Is so important, can't you see
No more sadness or being alone
For now my heart returns to home.

I never asked
For a blessing like you.
Like I've spoken to God
And my wishes came true.
I asked for a person
To love and to hold.
To be loyal and faithful
Not angry and cold.
God placed you on Earth
As I quested to find,
The one who would be there
So sweet and so kind.
In my wildest dreams
I would have denied.
That something so perfect
Could at all be supplied.
You have such a sweet face
But you are so much more.
You're my heartbeat......
With this small, simple statement
I give you and pray,
That you'll love me forever,
And forever you'll stay.

My hearbeat..... when I was lonely.
There may have been others,
But my heart longs for you only.
Even though I am far away.
I thank the lord for you each night,
As I kneel down to pray.
I have a dream that possibly,
Never will come true.
You may ask what is my dream,
My dream is a lifetime with you.
I hope you know just what I mean,
By these simple words I write.

As I sit here alone in the fading light,
I play once again for you,
All of your favorite love songs,
Some sad, some happy, some blue.
I wait for you to sing them....
When all the sunlight disappears
And there is only rain
I may be somewhat lonely but
The time is not in vain
Because my thoughts are with me
and I contemplate the past...
And I remember that no rain...
Was ever known to last...
And I remember that no wound...
Has ever failed to heal...
However deep the agony...
That I have had to feel ...
There is no storm or hurricane...
That does not spend its force...
There are no tears of bitterness...
That do not run its course...
And always somewhere in the midst...
Of ...moments passing by...
The lamp of faith is lighted by...
A rainbow in the sky and my rainbow is you ....

Have you touched a rose petal and felt its softness,
Have you watched lovers give each other a caress,
Have you watched the arrival of dawn to a brand new day,
Have you watched the sun set over the ocean,
Have you seen the dolphins play,
Have you held a new born baby, have you felt the emotion.
Have you watched trees swaying in the breeze,
And the birds there upon, take flight with ease,
Have you counted the stars in the sky above,
Have you noticed the gentleness of a pure white dove.
If I could take all of this beauty, and hold it close to me,
Then my love, I know, that I would be holding you...

When love is the air, and the sun that rises upon your face the glissing of the beauty of love is to be. As the moon comes upon us in the day I see the softness that we must say here is a heart in torn of to be waiting for the princess to kiss set it free.

The angel of your tomorrow
Making everything all right.....
Only then could I be
Everything you are to me......
