OK, here's another chance to win golden doubloons. Mary Chamberlain is diligently working on the convention newsletters, but she needs help in selecting the name of this newsletter. So, you were all so good at naming pieces and places, that we figured you'd have fun naming a paper. Send your suggestions to this message thread. To keep from having several hundred names to pick from, everyone is restricted to four suggestions. The deadline is 11:59 pm (AZ time), January 31, 2008. The committe will chose the winner. On your mark, get set, GO! Roberta |

Sorry for the delay in getting the name of the newspaper anounced. I started counting the votes on my desktop while waiting for the votin deadline of Feb. 15th. Then I shut it down to move the remainder of my possesions into my house on Feb. 13th. It has taken me almost two weeks to get enough unpacked to be able to fix a basic meal and have some dishes to serve the food. Today I was able to get my desktop set-up with Internet access and finally tally the remaining votes with the earlier ones. So drum roll please! The winning name of the newspaper is: The Scuttlebutt Submitted by Vanda Kight $5 Gold Doubloons will await you in Orlando! The two runner-ups will be used as column headings. The "Crow's Nest News" (submitted by Joe McLaughlin) will be the title for our "community bulletin board" and the "Captian's Log" (submitted by Lynda Ringelstein) will be used for a column of historical stories and pirate lore. Thanks for everyone's help! Leanna |

Leanna and all, I would love to take credit for the very original, creative and awe-inspiring name for the newsletter, but if you will check again the name came from my original, creative, awe-inspiring and beautiful daughter, Shannon Kight. It runs in the family!! Tee Hee!! Vanda |
