I'm pleased to announce that we have added  a special activity to the plans for Saturday afternoon.

In addition to:
  • the second half of the Swap 'n Sell
  • the continued Paint Your Own
  • the Lucky Dip Exchange

We have scheduled from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday

Andrea Calvesbert Signing Time

So bring your "Big Day" and the Anniversary pieces to get signed by Andrea as well as any of the pieces where Peter has referenced Andrea. There will be a limit of 6 pieces per person per time throught the line.

Now how about your help? What don't you guys list the pieces that include a reference to Andrea?

Leanna

This is very nice. In Philadelphia Peter had Andrea sign one of my cake toppers because she was standing there when he signed it. I always thought it was a special piece because she did. Can't wait to get more of them signed. Andrea is a trooper.

Ahoy All

I guess I don't have a clue to her pieces.  I don't know if I have any.  I tried to pull her up on the HK website and it only shows to pieces (I don't have either).  Can you give a list of what she has done?

Joy...

Andrea is not an HK artist, per se... she is however the muse and in some cases subject matter that Peter has based several of his HK pieces on...

For example:

The Cake Topper Series
The Big Day
Paper Anniversary
Cotton Anniversary
Leather Anniversary
Silk Anniversary
Wood Anniversary

Pieces where Andrea is Featured
Ed's Safari II (Version with Andrea Driving)
Andrea of the Sea

Pieces where Andrea is Mentioned
Antaritic Antics (The “ALR?on the hot water bottle stands for Andrea Louise Riley (Peter’s wife).
Beak to Beak (Inscribed on the bench is “PC loves AR?(Peter Calvesbert and Andrea Riley)
Ed's Safari (“The Big Day 30.9.95?is Peter and Andrea’s proposed wedding day)
Have a Heart (The heart is gift wrapped and marked “To A?(Andrea)
Original Kin (Adam and Eve bear resemblance to Peter and Andrea)
Pod Parade (The “Andrea?inscription on the lid is for Peter Calvesbert’s wife)
Rather Large Hop (On some of the pieces, Andrea’s car registration is inscribed on the rim)

There are also a slew of others where Andrea is mentioned in the Secrets but does not have an actual reference carved into the piece itself :-)

Thank you Captain Mike!
Joy ,Andrea is Pete's wife (aka muse) since 1999(someone correct me if year is incorrect) and they have two children Sam & Molly. If we are lucky we may be able to get Sam to sign a piece or two!

Hi All

I don't have any of those pieces so if someone needs to have extra signed they can use mine.  I'll just have Andrea the mermaid.

  • Peter and Andrea honeymooned in October of 1995 (from the secrets on "Beak to Beak")
  • Samual Frederick Calvesbert was born on February 20, 2001 (from the secrets on "Labor of Love")
  • Millie Calvesbert was born on September 5, 2003 (from the secrets on "Labor of Love")

Ahoy mates,
I found some that I think qualify.
Family Tree=PC(heart)AR
Trunk Show=P&A around a heart
And this might be stretching it a bit but on Never Mind the Mullosc there is the notation "Kill Wife" ("because my wife managed to bake the model while I was drying it in the oven")
There are several more that contain secrets referring to their honeymoon or of houses that they were considering buying or to Andrea's horse or horses that Peter rides because Andrea loves horses.

Free & Easy is a more currecnt release that Peter had carved. On the HK website it says:

S e c r e t s

Peter is always nervous about carving horses because his wife, Andrea, is a horse expert and can be quite critical of his efforts. So it was with huge relief that she approved of his most recent effort, “Free and Easy? Although Andrea may have been impressed, Paul Frape, the gentleman who has the task of making molds from Peter’s sculptures, was less than pleased by all of the gangly legs. It is these production difficulties that have historically made horses rarities within the HK collection. Despite the serious depiction, Peter couldn’t resist carving a cartoon horse within this box figurine. Look for a “TKA?inscription under a hoof. This stands for Tony and Kathy Allocco, avid Harmony Kingdom collectors who have invited Andrea to a cattle drive, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

AHHHHHHH. Joy, I was hoping that since you are a new collector that you might have purchased Free & Easy so that you could have your piece signed by Andrea.
Hope the information was of help.

Ahoy Linda

I'm not a new collector (been an hk member since 1998) but I pretty much stick with getting all the cat pieces.  I have a few of the other pieces  and some of harmony garden but the heart of my collection is the cats.  I just didn't pick up the new cat pieces in 2007 because I was putting my extra money aside for the convention.  I was hoping to pick those up (new cats pieces) in orlando in lucky dip, a sure thing and the swap & trade.   I have the jardina cat pieces too.  Only 1 set of cat pot bellys (calendar cats with the birthstone gem in them)

I have 6 other cats one that have been set aside to be packed and have Peter sign them in Orland.

Joy,
Sounds like a plan. I have pretty much all the cat pieces so if I am lucky enough to win any that you do not have we will have to get together for the Swap & Trade.
Your display cases are very pretty.

It is nice that Andrea will have her own opportunity for interaction with collectors. Cool!

I thought that I would bump this discussion back up to everyone's attention since if you are packing pieces for signature...I would not want anyone to miss out on the opportunity of having Andrea sign your special ones!
