First of all, please do NOT mail me any more checks!

I leave for Orlando on the 8th and I fear we would cross each other.

Second and more importantly, I want to thank everyone for their patience in my cashing your checks and processing the credit card orders.  I know they have not been as prompt as in previous years and I apologize for that but life got in the way.

The reason?  One month after the Phoenix event my Aunt had a stroke and since I had full power of attorneys over and was executor I had to make all the financial and medical decisions.  One month after that, on Dec. 30, she had a brain anurisum and had surgery.  She was in a vegetative state for 6 weeks with us not knowing if she would make.  She surprised all of us and went on to a special hospital to be weened from her respiratory trach and stomach feeding tube.  She was released to a nursing home near my house where I spent my evenings after work trying to get her to eat and drink and then we would play along with the games on TV.  We worked with her and finally had her standing and walking with a walker and very coherant.  She went home with people to care for her when less than two weeks later she fell in the bathroom and broke her hip and hit her head hard enough to make it start bleeding again.  Back to the hospital for yet another brain surgery and hip surgery at the same time.  This one took a toll on her frail body.  She only improved when I moved her again close to my home and we all visited her daily.  Then around mid February the flu hit and the infection, despite all the antibiotics, continued to spread and turned into sepsis infection.  She passed on March 11.  I loved my Aunt very, very much and taking care of her was my obligation and promise to her years ago.  Over the last 18 months, I grew to know her, truly know her.  We still find our cars steering toward the nursing home to be with her sometimes.

I have been back as full force as I possibly can since then trying to catch up with all I had to put on back burners and only ask for more patience during the event as I work around some kinks and a new version of QuickBooks.

I can't wait to renew old friendships and make new ones at the event.  So until then, pray I get on the plane with my laptop and credit card scanner!!   And thank you, Friends.

Johnia

Johnia,

I am sorry for the loss of your aunt.  It sounds as if she really knew that she made a difference in your life & ya'll all knew that you made a difference in her life because she got better when ever ya'll were around.  In life you loved her, In death you still remember her, & In life beyond death there is still hope that you will once again be with her through Jesus Christ.  Love makes all things possible.

See you in Orlando

Jane
