The Friends of David Lawrence donated all our remaining FDL pieces to HOP for use at the recent Pirates of the Kingdom event in Orlando. The donation qualified us as a Premier Sponsor of the event and that means the Club received a Rocky Road, the event's Early Bird piece. We've decided to use the piece to raise additional funds for our charity, Reading is Fundamental.
This piece features Mad Murphy, trying his best to get to Florida for the event. You can tell he's a well-traveled chap - just look at the labels on his luggage! It has been signed for us by Peter Calvesbert.
In order to maximize the amount that actually goes to charity, we decided to post it here on the boards and ask for offers rather than list it on eBay. So here's the deal:
- The piece will be offered here until Sunday, May 4th.
- Email your bid to me at [email protected]. The minimum bid is $100.
- I will periodically post the high bid amount here during the week - but I will not post the name of the high bidder.
- I will notify the high bidder on Monday, May 5th. The winner can either send me a check, payable to Reading is Fundamental, or use PayPal.
- The Club will pay for shipping the piece to the winner.
