I just read that the movie "Twilight" (which I loved) did awesome in the box office, so they are making the sequel "New Moon". I am soo excited about this for two reasons. 1. I love the book series and 2. they will be holding open calls for new actors who don't have agents...They haven't announced the dates and locations for these Open Casting Calls yet, but I am keeping my eyes open. I want to attend one of these auditions sooo much. Its always been a dream of mine to go to a professional acting audition...not to become famous (I couldn't care less about that and I know the odds), but the life experience would be so awesome. It would be so much fun. I am hoping that they hold one of the auditions in Michigan so I can go...I can possibly make it to Ohio but I have no way to get anywhere else....

Ratties, I've read all 4 of the Twilight series books and want to see the movie. I hope one of the auditions is near enough for you to go, that would be awesome even to try out . Do you know if the movie was filmed in the Olympic Pennisula area, where the books are set? I've been to Forks and Port Angeles. One day on vacation my hubby and I ran a track workout at Forks High School, but this was 10 years ago way before the books came out. It didn't rain once in the 2 weeks we were there. |

From the documentary I watched just before the movie came out, they filmed in a few different places...the director Catherine Hardwicke said they had to purposely look for rainy and cloudy weather for the filming, lol..I don't know where the auditions were held but in the documentary it mentioned that Robert Pattison and Kristen Steward read the field scene for their tryouts laying on the director's bed at her home, lol...that must have been interesting...If "New Moon" auditions aren't held nearby, then I will have to look for other auditions for different movies or shows that are nearby, but I would really love to audition for "New Moon"...not sure which characters yet, maybe a Volturi....I would say Leah Clearwater but I'm not tan and don't look Indian...I am going to look into how much simple headshots cost and getting a resume together....put aside an outfit to wear...and I need to find some monologues to read..I know some, but want to find more...I know some of Juliet's speeches from "Romeo and Juliet" (of course) and I Sarah's speech from "Labyrinth" (the give me the child speech) |

sorry I haven't been online in a few days....my internet is acting up a lot, especially when it snows...its frustrating...
more interesting news, I found out that another book series I liked is being made into movies as well...The Uglies Series....Its set in futuristic times and everyone is considered an Ugly until they turn 16 and get mandatory plastic surgery that makes you drop dead gorgeous..the first book in the series is the Uglies, the second is the Pretties and the third is the Specials....Starring Tally Youngblood and her friends....there is a fourth that the rights haven't been purchased called the Extras but it has a different main character....even though Tally and Shay (Tally's best friend and at times her worst enemy) are in it....I am getting so excited about possibly being able to audition for these movies....:)...I am still waiting to hear when and where they open casting calls are being held, they haven't been announced yet.... |

That sounds exciting! Be prepared to wait in long lines. Earlier this year, they filmed part of the Transformers 2 movie here. What a zoo. They were calling for lots of extras, but you had to be Chinese. I have to admit, it was very exciting though, even if I couldn't pass as a Chinese person. Good luck! |

I have family that live in Detroit looking out for auditions for me as well as keeping my eye on acting411.blogspot.com and other audition announcing sites...I have been thinking about my name lately, I feel that Crystal is just to plain or there may be other reasons that I might have to use a stage name...(random fact...Whoopi Goldberg's real name is Caryn Johnson)....anyways, So I have been thinking of what my stage name can be...so far I have only come up with one...it combines my first and middle names together with some different spelling and keeping my last name...what does everyone think of Kristalyne Peters for my stage name....Its pronounced like Crystaline |
