Fruity Water

These delicious and refreshing concoctions are simply iced water with a slight hint of the flavour of the fruit used to make them.

Fresh fruit
Fresh water
Ice

Directions:

Begin with a large glass jar. The type for ice tea with a spigot at the bottom are perfect. About half fill the jar with ice. Then fill the jar the rest of the way with what ever fruit you are planning to use. The fruit should be cut into rather large chunks. Add several limes cut into slices and a sprig or two of fresh mint. Fill the jar with water and let it sit until the liquid is thoroughly chilled. You can keep refilling with water and ice several times.

E-Z as 1-2-3 Lemonade

3 lemons
2 cups sugar
Water & ice to make 1 gallon

Procedure

Thinly slice the lemons, discarding the tips.

Place in a 1-gallon pitcher & add sugar. Stir throughly until lemon slices are well covered with sugar. (To get the maximum flavor from the lemons, mash the sugar & lemon slices together until well blended.)

Let stand for 10 minutes.

Add ice & water to make 1 gallon.

Serve immediately or within hours, putting a lemon slice into each glass if desired.

Makes 1 gallon.

Tip:

Remove the lemons if you won't be using it within 24 hours. The rinds from the lemons can turn bitter if left in too long.

Cocoa-Coffee Freeze

1 cup cold dark roast brewed coffee
1 tablespoon instant cocoa
¼ teaspoon powdered cinnamon
1 teaspoon Mexican vanilla
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar - or to taste
½ cup cream
ice cubes

Procedure

Put all in the jar of your blender and pulse until all the ice is
blended.

Pour into tall, chilled glasses.

Serve immediately.

Although this is usually a non-alcoholic drink it certainly can accomodate the addition of a shot of brandy or Kahlua.
