Paul Z. is a successful Indianapolis businessman who had a heart attack while walking downtown. He was about to get into his car when a violent pain seized his body. It was as if a giant fist was smashing into his chest. He felt an intense pain shoot through his left rib as he dropped his briefcase and crumpled to the dirty cement sidewalk. Mind whirling, he broke out in a cold sweat. Suddenly, he felt extremely gentle hands take hold of him and loosen his tie and collar. As he opened his eyes, he saw a handsome man dressed in doctor's attire.

"Don't worry. You'll be all right. An ambulance is on its way. Your wife has been alerted. Stay calm." The next thing he knew, Paul was headed to the hospital in an ambulance. "I'd like to thank the doctor who found me," he stammered weakly. "What's his name?" "Sir, we didn't see a doctor," answered the puzzled paramedic. "Some kids saw you fall to the ground and called 9-1-1 from a pay phone."

"It was my guardian angel," says Paul. "I have so much to be thankful for. That Christmas, I almost died. But as it turned out, it proved to be the best Christmas my family and I ever experienced. There's no Christmas present anybody can give you that's greater than the gifts of life - and love."
