I was told a story one time by a friend of mine which is where I got my nickname, and I was wondering if anyone as heard it or one like it.
There was a young woman who was never blessed with children. Her husband caring for her sent her to the Shaman for some advise. On the way there she met an old woman who said she could help her if she would follow her to the old cave. There the old woman gave her a necklace with a puma's tooth. The old woman told her that the necklace would give her the power of the puma to take care of all children, if she so wished.  The young woman not fulling understanding what the old woman had said put the necklace around her neck. She returned to the village and continued on to see the Shaman. When she first entered the lodge he saw the necklace she wore than they sat on the ground while she told him her problem.
"I can not help you to have children." he said "for I have tried to help you before, but this necklace you wear, I know who gave it to you, you will have children, but not your own, so use it wisely."
She left very confused. Why can this simple think help me when He can't.  She started back home and heard aruging close by.  Looking to see she found a father aruging with his wife about the duties of their two childred and that they would be beaten if the chores were not done.  This enraged her greatly, but she did nothing until that night. She returned after sun down late, and heard the children crying. Their mother was also weeping but she had to follow the will of her husband. She was somehow able to sneak into the lodge with out the father hearing her and went to the children.
"Come with me and I will take you someplace safe and warm."  The childred were afraid of leaving, so in front of their eyes she turned herself into a puma. Turning her head she told the children that no one could harm them in her care, so they left with her in the dark of the night, and it is said that the Darkpuma is out there still, looking the the unloved and unwanted.
The mans name was Wimpy, he was or still is an Apache with blue eyes, and yes he did look like Geronimo.
The other part of the name,   MAN I LOVE DRAGONS!!!!!!
