Hi all, just wondering after reading the newpapers and watching news.  Has anyone else notice how quiet it has been about Red lake Rez?  I remember days and weeks of the same stuff over and over again when it happened at Columbine.  Even the "so called" great white father in Washington has not said a word.
Makes me wonder.....
Am I the only one wondering these things?

Hi all, guess I worded it wrong.  Where is the support, the outcry, the reaching out from all of U.S. people.  That is what I meant.  Actually tho....out here is VA there hasn't been much news since about 3 days after it happened.  Like the country wants to sweep under the rug about it.  Most people when they think of the Rez, they think Cherokee, tourists and money from casinos.  Not many want the rest to know what deplorable conditions most rezs' are in.  I think the Gov't doesn't want the people to know...But then I truely believe most people don't care.  They talk about sending money all over the world for the starving kids and pumping out billions for education to 3rd world countries, but forget about the people right here in their own country.
The Red Lake Rez's privicy has nothing to do with what I am questioning.  I am questioning the way the rest have reacted to it.
I am still waiting for the "Great White Father" in DC to acknowledge this sad affair in our history.

That's alright Witchway. I knew what you met.  The only thing different the Cherokee did that some of the other Native Peoples didn't was to see the impending tide and go with the flow. They now have all the problems of a major city along with problems of some of their young not caring about their heritage.  The U.S. government is more interested in what other countries can do for our country rather than take care of our poor, and it doesn't matter what the race is, but it is a sad fact that poor whites are more recognized than other races. So much for brotherly love eh?
