Hello all!
Had an adventure this tuesday I had to share with all of you.
I had to finally break down and replace my state ID which had expired on my Birthday of July 26th of this year.
I had managed to get by but when I went to my credit union a couple of weeks back the teller told me that the ID was invalid and I really could not use it at the Credit Union any longer, she would let it slide one last time, but it was the last time.
So I arranged with my acrivity director at Manor Care, where I am currently working, to have Tuesday off, in exchange for coming in Sunday.
So I take what I think would be the fastest bus routes to the DMV Department of Motor Vehicles for those unfamiliar with the slang.
I catch the number 40 which is SRO Standing room Only and get off at Colorado Blvd and Mississippi and transfer to the Number 11 which goes East and West on Mississippi Ave.
Well the 11 is SRO for the first half of the journey, haven't had to stand this much in ages. Finally am able to sit down and then the sneaky snake of the route begins.
We start off going down Mississippi then go to the Broadway St Station at Broadway and 1-25 , we leave this go back on Miss for a while then sneaky snake over to, here's where it gets rediculious, Exposition and remain on Expo, so I think we will turn back on Mississippi, I mean we have to.
WRONG!
We remain on Expo and I end up getting off on Exposition and Tejon , I end up walking back down to Sheshone St which is one block up from Tejon then walk 4 blocks up to Mississippi and then One block up to Raritan and to the DMV, I get there and 20 minutes later I have a temporary ID which will be replaced by my new one that will arrive with in 30 days in the mail.
So I leave the DMV and am getting ready to walk back down to Shashone St when I see of all things an RTD bus stop right in front of me, I think this is an illusion, because the #11 doesn't run West Mississippi, or maybe it did at one time.
I go up and find out that the #14 the Florida St Bus runs on West Mississippi.
I get on the bus completely turned around, end up at Tejon again, get off, and cross the street and catch the 14 going to the Broadway Station where I catch the Light rail downtown and get my slacks to the taylor for hemming then get home with no problems.
But here is the crazy part of all this. The 11 runs on West Exposition for a good part of its run going west, which is 700 /South/West
The 14 Florida bus runs on Mississippi which is 1100 West What is wrong with this picture.
The 40 Colorado Blvd runs completely North and South on Colo Blvd. The Colfax Busses run East West on Colfax the Federal Busses 29-31 and 36 run North South on Federal.
So why does RTD split up the 11 this way? Because they can.
Rediculous.

Hope all are well and will be looking forward to seeing Jim and Morgan on 9/24 or 11/1 for our next BSG Night the episodes are getting tighter and have even a few more surprises coming your way.
