Bath: Simply put, make a tincture from the herb and pour into bath water.
Compress: Linen is soaked in a tincture of the herb and applied to a wound.
Decoction: The same as an infusion but requires more heat to extract from roots, bark, seeds, etc.
Infusion: Commonly referred to as tea, as the raw herb is boiled in water.
Liniments: An infusion that is to be rubbed into the skin.
Oil: The raw herb is either steeped in extra virgin olive oil for a period of a month or this is heated, then the herb is removed.
Ointment: Melt 2 ounces of white wax with 3 ounces of lard and add 3 ounces of whatever herb in oil form.
Poultice: The raw herb is lightly boiled then placed on a wound then the area is wrapped in linen.
Tincture: The herb is steeped in a jar of either liquor or apple cider vinegar for two weeks
