There once was a young child who was like any other young child. She was full of happy ness and loved to play. As she grew older she felt as one with the land; like she was here to protect it. She was still quite young when she first went for the ride outside of town. She had fun looking at scenary as it went by, even thought most would see it as quite bleak and dole. The land was beautiful as it passed by- the river with it's red clay, then the hills that had the red and white rock that showed the many years that had passed to create them. They had slowed and turned from going east, to going south. It was only a little longer. It was beautiful here. The land here had such a strong feel to it, such a strong pull. The little girl new this place was very special in the past. She also knew that no others remembered the specialness of this place. It had once been a sacred site where special dances and ceremonies were held. There would be no proof found of this specialness, though. The spirits who had once roamed that land had allowed that girl to know and to see, but she was very very young and did not under all the way. She knew that no others would believe her, so she grew up not knowing what to do with what she had been told. Things seemed to have never changed. She always go the same feeling from the land of being pulled down, for that is how strong it was in that land. It was about fourteen years after first going to this land that she noticed the change; was unsure of the change. She tossed away the thought. The girl had returned to the land three months later. She didnt quite understand at first what was going on, she thought that it was just from her being tired from the trip. After resting some she decided it was time to leave, since it had taken her such a long time to get there and that the wind was not going to let up any time soon. She had walked up the hill that gave way to part of the site that was not included in the park, although she knows that it is still part of the others. she was on her way, trying to dodge annoying bees that wouldnt move out of her way; when, amazing(not), she was stopped by the sight of rocks. The girl had never been able to go home from the land with out picking one up. She was joyed in finding more rocks to bring home, even though she knew she'd get "talked" to about bringing them. It was later when she returned home that she became sure of her thoughts she had had earlier. The land was changing. It wasn't the same. There was no pull when she had visited. There was not the same feeling of going into the ground she had always had. She thinks to herself,"why, how? How can i make it the same? How can i fix it back to the way it once was?...I dont know, i just dont know. Maybe i should have listened better when they told me about that place. I know i should have listened better. I should remembered what they said. I only want it to be the way it was once, to be the way it used to be. to be like when i first came here, when i first saw it and its beauty..." The girl is still lost. Unknowing in what to do; feeling numb inside too often. She only wishes it be better. She knows nothing else to do. Her only thought is: "help, please"
