Hello everyone. I'm Phil, short for Philippa, it became shortened years ago when I supervised a playgroup, and my full name was too much of a mouthful for the little children to say!

I was 58 two weeks ago, but I don't feel, (or act), it most of the time! I live in South Wales with my husband Tony and Jonathan the youngest of our three grown up children. The other two are girls, Tanya and Vikki, Tanya has our two grandchildren Jack 11½ and Chloe 10, and they live just 5 minutes walk from us, which is nice.

I am about to start out on a new weight loss journey, currently being the heaviest I have ever been in my life, apart from during my last pregnancy. I will be returning to Slimming World, where I used to go until last November, when illness and a major operation prevented me from continuing. I have been receiving chemotherapy since February, it finished two weeks ago, and whereas some lose weight on the treatment, I managed to gain all the weight I'd lost over the past couple of years, during my illness too, and more besides!  So I have a long journey ahead of me, one which I am quite excited about embarking on believe it or not! There are some foods I can no longer eat, due to the nature of my operation, but I'm sure I can work the plan around this, and also gradually build up to exercising, I still get very tired easily. Oh and I'm vegetarian, I have been for around 20 years now.

This looks a very good and helpful group, and I look forward to looking around properly.

Love from

Hello Phil, I'm Beth (shortened by me from Elizabeth) because it is easier & quicker to type Beth. I'm 68 married and live in Edinburgh. We have a grown up Son & Daughter plus a Grandson who has just finished his 1st year at Uni.
I'm sure you'll enjoy this site it is full of all sort of information. Glad to see you have been to the games arcade I find it very helpful as it stops me nibbling too much.
Love Beth
