The snow has cleared now and all we have left is some slush in shaded places, the snow looks and feels much better.
The saying yesterday was: A good example is.........the best Sermon.
What a day yesterday! I came on here and posted quite a big message in answer to Linda's mentioning doll's houses and it seems to have vanished. One or two posts seem to do that lately.
I was saying Linda, that you saying about the doll's houses reminded me that Brian made them, fully fitted with lighting, for our daughters and granddaughters. Our sons and DGS got garages, forts and farms completely equipped. When a boy got a garage there was pumps, tools, cars etc. forts had cannons, soldiers etc and farms had a farmhouse, a barn, enclosures and of course animals and people, tractors and such. The only tuition he had in woodwork when he was at school - he turned out some beautiful trays and things there.
I have a sewing box I'm very proud of that Brian made for his mother, it's a good size, has a partitioned tray and the lid has a beautiful marquetry lid that took him hours. I keep it polished with beeswax. He was supposed to make me one but with our family growing, he started working as much overtime as he could and never found the time - but I got it in the end!
A few days before Christmas, Jimmy and Tommy were spending the night at their grandparents. At bedtime they were saying their prayers. With eyes tight shut, Jimmy says in a loud voice: 'Dear God, please ask Santa to bring me a Playstation3, a mountain bike and a telescope' 'Why are you shouting?' asks Tommy, 'God isn't deaf.'
'I know,' sais Jimmy, 'But Grandma is!'
I put Spybot on yesterday afternoon and it took hours. Later I lost my connection and I was without my computer for the rest of the day. Oh well I got quite a bit of my book read, our bedroom had a good turn out. We found Brian's video camera which he hadn't used since our Andy's weeding nearly 20 years ago.
Must get on,
love to you all, keep smiling,
Joan
