Insect bites are a summer irritant. Stop bugs nibbling you in the first place with naturally repellant essential oils - add 10-20 drops of citronella, eucalyptus or lavender essential oil to an eggcup of sweet almond oil, then smooth the mixture onto exposed parts of your body.
If you do get bitten, rubbing an ice-cube over the area should take the sting out of it.
There is a new little gadget called a Zapper that you can use to stop insect bites itching. As soon as you notice the bite, put the Zapper over it and press the button a few times. You will feel little tiny pricks on your skin but they don't hurt. The bite will calm down almost immediately and you can re-use the Zapper whenever needed. Boots the Chemist and Superdrug have them but I expect you can get them elsewhere now. Linda |
