Afternoon all
I'm a bit late today and it's been one thing after another this morning starting with the burglar alarm man at 9:00 (when they say a morning call you never expect them THAT early do you?)
I was a baby boomer of February 1947 when the snow, even in London, was 4ft deep. My father was a Master Cabinetmaker and he could do anything with wood. The wardrobes and dressing table I had in my bedroom up until I was about 14 were the pieces he made to complete his apprenticeship in the early 30's and like you Joan, my brothers always had the best 'bogie' in the road. He never did build me a doll's house though which I would have loved.
We have just sold some dolls house furniture on e-bay. It was a lot of stuff that DH 'saved' from the tip one day many years ago with a dolls house. My DD was never verymuch interested in it so we gave away the house but kept all the bits and pieces which fetched £73 last week! There were a few nice pieces but I would have said most of it was 50's stuff.
We've had a lovely bright start to the day until about 2 hours ago and now it's throwing it down with rain. I was hoping to go to the library but I think I'll leave it for today.
Well the new 'Discover' programme was unveiled at WW yesterday. It's not that different, still counting points, but they have more or less abandoned the Core Plan. I thought it just confused everybody having 2 plans anyway.
Can't stay on any longer as DH is e-baying and needs the PC back.
Hope you all have a good day and that you got to your Xmas lunch Carole. My first one is next Thursday with girls from WW'ers, then another one the following Sunday with 'rent-a-crowd'. I'm trying to be so good at the moment so that I can have a few treats then.
