Lower fat varieties of foods have been around for many years now, but more recently there have been a new generation of very low fat and virtually fat-free foods to save you even more calories.

Spreads
Low Fat Foods
Low Fat Foods
A l/fat or half/fat spread is one that is up to 40% fat.  Although it has half the fat of a full-fat spread, which can be up to 80% fat, it still contains a lot of fat.  A very low-fat spread is one that has up to 25% fat, such as Flora Diet or Gold Extra Light.  You need only count half the calories than for low-fat or half-fat spread.

Yoghurts

A low fat yoghurt has up to 2g fat per 100g and a small 120-150 pot will normally cost you 75-150 calories.  A fat-free or virtually fat-free has less than 1g fat per 100g ande a small 120-150g pot will normally cost 50 - 75 calories.

I will have to leave it there as I'm short of time but later I'll be discussing low fat soft cheese, hard cheese and mayonnaise.

JUST THINK!

WHY GO LOW WHEN YOU CAN GO VERY LOW!

Happy slimming,
Joan
