For the next few topics we’ll be looking up ways to speed weight loss. Weighing out portions of food can be a bit of a nuisance ?but it’s very effective when it comes to weight loss!

Free-foods do not need to be weighed as they are very low in calories, or normally used in tiny amounts. When it comes to high calorie foods, a few extra grams or the odd extra ounce could account for several extra calories. A mistake often made when weighing is to put any extra in your mouth instead of back where you got it from, so be careful of that, and hand up anyone who hasn’t done it!

If, over a day, you exceed your portion size on several foods, then you could be having lots more calories than you think. Over a week it could be the difference between losing weight and staying the same weight. In other words you could be slowing your weight loss.

Good Idea

Keep your food scales handy, and then you are more likely to use them. I keep mine on my worktop between the toaster and my spice rack, lol.

Scales that can hold your plate and be set to zero after the addition of each item are very useful. I use WW digital scales, I’ve had them a few years but they are so handy! They even give you the points in what you weigh, but I don’t bother with that.  They were expensive but just need a change of battery once in a blue moon.

Onward and downward girls,

Happy slimming

Joan
