Many of us have a little habit that we often don’t even realise we have! And it’s a habit that can seriously slow down weight loss. It’s simple, popping bits and pieces in your mouths without realising.
How often do you do any of these?
You are weighing out cereal and it goes over by a few grams. You remove the excess from the scales ?and pop it into your mouth!
You clear away the children’s tea, and before you know it you’ve eaten those chicken nuggets they left.
Dinner is over and there are a couple of roast potatoes left in the tin or on someone’s plate…?
The first biscuit in the packet is broken ?remember that broken biscuit has just as many calories as a whole one!
There’s only one chocolate left in the box ?what would you do?
I bow my head and admit to doing all these silly things at some time or other.
Good Idea
For one week, make a conscious effort to note every time you start to put an odd bit of food in your mouth, and aim to stop yourself. If you manage to stop, estimate how many calories you would have eaten and write it down. At the end of the week, add up how many extra calories you would have had if you ate them all.
I have deliberately kept these topics down to small bites so as not to bore you but I hope you will try some of the ideas out.
Happy slimming, onward and downward together dear friends,
Joan
