Whilst eating less is one side of the equation, burning up more calories is the other side that can really speed up your weight loss.

It’s a fact that most of us gain weight simply because we eat about 200 calories too many a day more than we need for our bodies to function normally. Over a year 200 surplus calories a day totals 73,000 calories at roughly 3500 calories to the pound, that’s how you could add about 21 lbs to your weight in a year!

On the other hand, by burning off an extra 200 calories a day, you could certainly speed up your weight loss. Most people can burn off an extra 200 calories doing about thirty minutes activity of moderate intensity a day.

The trick is to find something you really enjoy doing and are prepared to commit to regularly. Even better, do different things on different days which will prevent boredom and will give a workout to different muscles in the body.

Good Idea

If you are unfit, or not used to exercise, be sure to start very steadily and work up to a moderate pace gradually.

Walking a mile burns off about the same amount of calories as jogging a mile. Jogging used more energy while you are doing it, but it takes less time to complete a mile.

Happy Slimming.....
