If you don’t have very much weight to lose, or as you get nearer your Target Weight, your average weight loss may be a little slower than previously and you may want to focus on losing a smaller amount.

There is one thing you should always remember should your weight loss slow down as you get lighter, every pound you lose will make much more difference to how slim you look than it does when your have several stone to lose.

One way of looking at it is to say that at 20 stone you have to lose 2 stone to lose 10%, but at 10 stone you only have to lose one stone. You could say that each pound you lose has twice the effect.

Good Idea

Take a strip of paper and at the top write the weight you are today. Take 2 lb (or 1kg) off your current weight and write it below your current weight. Now just concentrate on losing those 2 lb!

When you have lost them, you cross out your starting weight. Your previous target is now your current weight, so you take 2 lb off that and write that below. When you’ve lost those 2 lb, repeat and keep repeating until you reach your final Target Weight.

Onward and downward,

Happy slimming

Joan
