Give yourself credit.
Losing weight is simple ?but it’s not always easy.
I hope you give yourself due credit for any amount of weight you lose ?and keep off.
I'm proud of you!
If you lose 2 lb in a week, you deserve credit not only for the 2 lb you have lost, but if you hadn’t tried and stuck to your plan, you may have gained 2 lb instead.
In other words you are 4 lb lighter today than you might have been if instead of sticking to your plan, you had gone off the rails.
Treat yourself when you are losing weight. If you can afford it, you could put £1 coin in a jar for each 1 lb you lose then when you have lost half a stone, buy something with the money. You could do this for every half stone you have to lose. If you wanted to splash out you could save up until you’ve lost a stone but I think that’s a bit too long to wait for your reward. Ideas are: a chunky bracelet, a new nail polish or lipstick, treat yourself to some flowers, you know what sort of thing you like BUT don’t reward yourself with a box of chocolates or anything like that, lol.
Never be negative
Make it Positive:
Swap "It’s going to take ages to get to target" for "I’ve already lost 5 lbs.
Swap "I’ve got no willpower" for "I’m starting to make small changes"
Swap "I always give up" for "I’m going to learn from past mistakes"
Make it Personal:
I’m choosing to eat this way because it is really going to benefit me.
It’s my choice ?and I choose to be slim
Make it present tense:
"I am losing weight" rather than "I will go on a diet on Monday"
If losing weight were easy, everyone would be slim. Most people wish they were slim. You are doing something about it!!
Onward and downward, girls,
go for it, you know you can do it!
love
Joan
