Eliminate boredom
Having a huge range of food on offer at one time ?for example, a buffet spread ?can pose difficulties when it comes to limiting food choice to moderate portions. But eating the same foods, day after day will become extremely monotonous if you plan to stay slim for the rest of your life.
If you get to the stage when you can’t face another chicken breast or pot of yoghurt, you’re probably not taking advantage of the full range of foods available to you. This week, try a meal, from our recipes that you’ve never had before.
Of course, there are some foods which will feature more often than others, but if you want to avoid becoming bored with your food and using that as an excuse to go off your plan, then you really do need to ensure that you include lots of variety in your diet.
Salad is great in summer, but in winter you can add veggies by making warming vegetable soups or lean meat and veg casseroles. Fresh steamed veg are delicious, but they take on a different dimension if stir-fried or roasted with a spray of oil.
Try meals with eggs, low-fat cheeses and vegetarian alternatives for a change ?you don’t need to be a vegetarian to enjoy them
Chicken and turkey may be the lowest-fat, lowest calorie meats you can find, but leanest cuts of pork and beef are not far behind.
AND, very important, don’t forget to keep a few calories (points) for your favourite treats, as part of your calorie-controlled plan they will stop you feeling deprived.
happy slimming, wise eating,
enjoy,
Joan
you know you can do it!!
