Five Things We Can Learn From Celebrities

Celebs

We may not have their money, but with a little thought and effort we can have their style and chutzpah!

Whether it's Kylie or Sarah Jessica Parker, David Beckham or Craig David: there's something that we can learn from our modern day icons.

1. They always dress up, even off duty
Even if dressing up means dressing down. You may see celebrity snaps of Gwyneth Paltrow 'caught' in her jeans, baby propped on hip, but you can be sure that that particular combination of jeans, boots and vintage camisole top has been carefully hand picked. Of course celebs never know when the paparazzi is going to be lurking around the corner looking for the latest shot. But acting as if we might bump into someone special any moment, and dressing accordingly, will not only help us look better, but also feel better and boost our confidence.

2. They employ a stylist
To help them find their unique look that both flatters their figure and colouring. Halle Berry has her Wayne Scot Lukas; Scarlett Johansson has Edgar Revilla. We may not be able to afford our own personal stylist but many top department stores and some high street stores have their own stylists on hand. You'll be whisked away to your own private room where they'll listen to what you want and provide an armful of outfits to try. It's a nice way to get an expert view on what might suit you and step out of your comfort zone ?and often the service is completely free!

3. They change their image regularly
Notice how often someone like Madonna or Kylie changes their look. If you're still wearing the same haircut that you had ten years ago, or, even worse, still using the same make-up from a few years ago, take action now and have an image revamp. Get a dramatic haircut, go for a free make over at the make-up counter and learn what suits your skin now, as opposed to a decade ago.

4. They get support
Yes, we know they can afford those nannies, housekeepers, and macrobiotic cooks but think about how you might be able to get a more practical prop up from those around you. Start off by defining what help you need ?the family to help out more with the household chores to give you time to go for a walk or run, or your flatmates to chip in for a cleaner so that you'll feel more likely to cook healthy meals in your sparkling clean kitchen. And then ask for that help.

5. They have a huge incentive to keep fit
Whether it's for the latest film role or pop video, celebs know that their bankability often depends on their appearance ?a fantastic motivating factor when it comes to pulling on those running shoes or getting on that treadmill. We can take note and really dig deep to find our own motivation ?whether it's looking ten years younger or getting into a bikini this summer ?and keep reminding ourselves of it, over and over again.

So, next time you're thumbing through a celeb mag, take a moment to think about what you could have in common with your favourite celeb?and then go out and do it.
