I actually finished this book a while ago but it has stuck with me.  One of the best books I have ever read and I am an avid reader.  I read the book, my mother in law read it next then my 11 year old daughter.  We all loved it.  My daughter was talking to me every morning about the characters like they were people she knew.  We were all wishing the book would not end.

Is this fiction and do you remember who the author was?

It is fiction, and I agree- it is very, very good. The kind of book you pass along to all your female friends and relatives. The author is Sue Monk Kidd.

I've had the book for a month and just started reading it last night.

Right after I read the jacket and all the reviews, I immediately thought that I'll mail the book to my niece after I finish reading it.   Her name is Lily, like the lead character, and both Lily and I lost a mother at a young age.   We have a close relationship.

Anyway, it was pretty amazing to see Julie's post just now about sharing the book.  Yea, I sure plan to!
