Nope- I'm in the industry, Miri, and as usual, Rowling and Scholastic are keeping it Top Secret. All we get is "she is working on it steadily and progressing nicely"
BTW, the paperback of Phoenix comes out in August (25th if I remember correctly).
I know my son can't wait for it. He's read every one of them at least three times. The hard cover has even fallen off one of them because he's read it five times!!
I heard somewhere that it is due out summer/fall 2005. I just went to JK Rowling's web site and as of May 16, 2004 it still is not completed. http://www.jkrowling.com/
Regardless of when it comes out, I'm tired of waiting. I had heard somewhere that all the books had already been written and she was just waiting to publish on a certain time line, but I found out that just wasn't true. I think what it was is that all the ideas are done and she's putting them in the stories. Oh, and NP on the site - it's pretty cool, huh?
I think she has a timeline and events written out, the outline basically. Now she is working and putting in the prose and that's harder than the outline. I don't envy her trying to write it with a new baby. I can see why she fell behind. Stilll, I want it NOW!! Still the 3rd movie is almost out and that'll hold me for a little bit.
The only thing Rowling has completely finished of the final two books is the last chapter of book seven. I watched the AMC special that was on around the time of the release of movie three, and she discussed this fact.
