I had an angioplasty with a stent put in the middle of August.  Am doing OK but can't believe how many things I can't do right now while recovering.  I feel OK sitting down and can walk around pretty good now but trying to do dishes or even sweeping and mopping is too much for me.   I was feeling kind of depressed and my boyfriend who doesn't really like cats (we have a dog) surprised me with a cute little baby kitten. That was very therapeutic and she's so cute.  Attached is a pic of Sandy (named after Sandy Squirrel on Spongebob Squarepants). Her favorite place to be is on the computer desk, sleeping or else lying in wait in the keyboard drawer to attack as I type.

Miri it has been one year that my husband had his heart attack and had the stents done. He was pretty sluggish for about a month and a half, he just had to get his sodium and potassium straight and learn what he could eat. He is doing amazing now, Praise God. Walks 3 to 4 miles a day and is even working out with weights. I pray for swift full recovery for you as well.

Good Luck with your recovery Miri.  I've heard good things about stent proceedures.  Congrats to your hubby Charlie.

Thanks charlie, that is very encouraging.  The handouts made it appear it would be two to four weeks and a month and a half sounds more realistic and more in line with how I feel.  I am starting a walking program and hope to increase it to 30 minutes twice a day so that I am walking an hour a day total.  It's slow going right now but I have added Stewi and the stroller so that slows it down but will actually help my strength in the long run.

Well I have a setback. I started having chest pains again and the doctor added a new prescription -- daily nitroglycerin and the chest pains lssened but didn't go away entirely. I was to start the cardio conditioning and when they asked about chest pain I was having some at the time and they told me to call the doctor as soon as I got home. I did and she has me scheduled for another angioplasty on Monday to see if there is a another problem or a problem with the stent they put in. I hope this fixes things so I can start healing and getting back to my old self (but with a better diet and more exercise).

Oh miri, I am so sorry this is happening again. It's better to take care of this now though, you don't want to put it off if you are having chest pains.  I will pray for you, hopefully it will be an easy fix and you can be on your way to recovery in no time at all,

That's got to be discouraging but I hope for your health that this one takes care of your problem.  I know I need to take better care of myself.

Thanks, it better fix the problem this time. It's gotten worse in the last two days. I can't do much walking around at all and have to rest most of the day which really is boring. I'm just trying to read and watch TV mostly. Can sit for a while at the computer but then tire out. Ah well, tomorrow hopefully will fix all that. Wish me luck.
