'Survivor' winner Richard Hatch is a loser with Supreme Court

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear Richard Hatch's appeal of his conviction for failing to pay taxes on the $1 million prize he won on the debut season of "Survivor."

Interesting, thanks!

I'd love to know why the appeal was denied, but they're not saying.
But maybe the answer is what I copied/pasted below...and I was surprised to see it!
I thought this was only about Survivor...I must have forgotten.

This greed is bad and I believe his arrogance and ego didn't help matters.
I feel kinda sorry for the guy, but his sentence is justified. (jmo)

Besides his "Survivor" winnings, Hatch also was convicted of evading taxes on $327,000 he earned as co-host of a Boston radio show and $28,000 in rent on property he owed.

Those last charges are the reason I think the first charge is BS.  He was just arrogant enough to think CBS would buckle and pay them for him to avoid any scandal/ Besides fraud there are other names for that, blackmail and extortion

I just reread this, I didn't mean the first tax evasion charge was BS but Hatch's allegation that he knew about them smuggling food in and CBS agreeing to pay his taxes was BS.
