Maybe I missed it but I don't recall seeing Randy reading his letter from home.  Surely he got one, didn't he?

Linda, I think someone had said that Randy didn't get one.

Oh no, that is sad.  I feel bad for him now. He must have someone, how could they not have taken the time to write?  I didn't anyone could make me feel sorry for Randy?

I rewatched the scene on the CBS website and ot looks like Randy did have a letter. He had a packeage in his hand and there were papers in it. He probably didn't have any kind of reaction and that is why they didn't really show him at all. He was just sitting there the whole time.

It's good to know he at least got a letter.

Thats good.  I always tape the show and watch it again and I haven't watched it a second time yet. I will take close notice to that part.

I thought what Randy did (wa-wa) was annoying, which pretty much equates to risky in this game.  Been VERY interested in him since pre-show, but I was hoping he wouldn't be so overtly nasty...during confessionals it's fine, though!  lol
Crystal  will soon be on the same tribe with him...

Bob's crying during letter time truly touched me.  I had to take my glasses off and pause with some kleenex.   I just love this guy!

PS   I don't know if Crystal will soon be on the same tribe with Randy.
Just realized there might not be a "typical" merge after all.  But they at least all join together for a feast next week, according to one of the teasers.

"The Kota tribe enjoys a picnic at the edge of a crater and letters from home"

Forgot to mention the opening scene before.  Get away from the (far) edge is right!
Crazy!

Just found this in an interview with Dan and Ace.

Did Randy get any letters from home?

Randy didn’t get any letters from home. I can understand why. [laughter] No that’s not a complete sentence. It made me appreciate Randy a whole lot more I think because I wasn’t sure. He’d told us before that he wasn’t close to anyone and I wasn’t sure if I believed that or if he just felt like he wasn’t close to anyone. But, when he didn’t get any letters, I really understood a lot more about his personality and why. I think he’s mean because or he says mean things. He’s being brought down to Crystal’s level, not Crystal, Corrine’s level a little bit. I noticed that the more he started hanging out with Corrine the more he would joke at other people’s expense so I think he’s just a guy who doesn’t have a lot of friends doesn’t have a lot of close people. I think he wants that and I think he can have that so the game is great to see him come out of his shell and really be accepted by a lot of people in the game.

In the video clip that Becca posted it shows him holding a letter or something that looks like one.  He's not reading it though.  Wonder what will happen if he is still on the show when they get a visit from home?  The guy has got to have at least a friend.

If Randy is holding a letter perhaps it belongs to another contestant who decided to share it with him.

As much as it's Randy's choice to live the way he wants, I was still glad to read those words.   I had a feeling he was a misanthrope - maybe he was hurt badly by someone.
